Purpose

Update teamwork task

Prerequisites

  • You have access to to the comany Teamwork account

Procedure

When to update a task.

Modify a Teamwork task:

  • If there are new action items or media that needs to be included in the Task Details
  • If the task status needs to be updated
  • If the assignee needs to be changed
  • If a tag needs to be added or removed
  • If a reminder needs to be set
  • If there are other task details that need to be updated.

Steps to updating a task

  • Open the specific task on Teamwork.
  • Click Edit Task button (or the pencil icon next to the task title that appears when hovering over a task).

  • Make any necessary changes to the task.
    As a rule of thumb, do NOT edit the task description; however, it is sometimes helpful to add new information to the task description when there is a long series of comments. If editing the task description area, use bold text or a note to indicate what has changed in the task.

  • If reassigning the task, be sure to notify the new person assigned using the checkbox.

  • Reinforce any changes made to the task by leaving a message in the comments to alert the person assigned (or those following) about whatever change has been made.

  • If the due date has been updated, be sure that any reminders are updated (e.g. custom due dates will not automatically adjust).

Escalation if not successful

Reach out to Michelle or immediate Supervisor for any questions or concerns.

Successful Conclusion

The Teamwork task has been updated with new details.
